It could be our many pristine beaches or ocean settings.
It could be a combination of any or all of those things.
It could be our steel foundations which have forged the region we know and love today.
It might be something completely different. Let your imagination run wild.
We have launched the Take Wollongong to the World Logo Competition.
It's a unique collaboration by the Illawarra Mercury, Cycling Australia and Destination Wollongong.
The competition is giving this community the opportunity to be the one to design the official logo for the 2022 UCI Road World Cycling Championships which will be held in Wollongong.
Aside from that honour, the winner will get a pretty cool prize, the pinnacle of which is an VIP package for the entire world titles, something money can't buy.
If you are artistically inclined in any way or even if you are not, this is for you.
If you are a teacher who wants to give your students a unique challenge, this is for you.
If you are a local designer or artist, this is definitely for you.
You only have until June 28 so you best get moving.
The winning logo, if it gets the final approval from UIC, the sport's world governing body, will be used all over our globe to promote the event. And this event is huge.
The numbers of people who will attend this event as a spectator is mind-blowing let alone the millions that will tune in via television or the internet.
And all will see your logo. What an incredible piece of history that would be to be able to claim.
Time to put the pedal to the metal and starting getting your entry ready.
As Destination Wollongong general manager Mark Sleigh says, this is Wollongong's "Olympics".
Be a unique part of it.
