There were many smiles at Peterborough School on Tuesday when Dapto Mall centre manager Glenn Cochrane visited to check out the new playground.

It was donated by the shopping centre to make way for a new play area on Level One at Dapto Mall as part of a major refurbishment.
Peterborough School caters to the needs of students with special needs from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Principal Susanne Corkery said many of the students have sensory processing disorders and the creation of a safe and fun environment is going to provide opportunities for children to actively use their senses as they play and explore.
"Sensory play is an important part of childhood development. The space will be used by individual students who need time to themselves or by small groups of students who are learning new skills," she said.
"Students will also have the opportunity to develop gross motor skills in a safe environment.
"They will be able to learn to climb, to crawl, to navigate mazes and most of all have fun. Thank you on behalf of the students, staff and families of Peterborough School".
Mr Cochrane said the donation was a chance for Dapto Mall to give back to the community. "We're thrilled it will make such a big, positive difference to the students who attend the school".
In March, Dapto Mall announced a $3.5 million refurbishment of the upper level of the centre, to improve the shopping experience for both present and future customers.
The upgrade is due for completion in mid-2019 and focuses on the Food Court, with a concept designed to bring "the outdoors within".
A new state-of-the-art playground which caters for both older children and toddlers will be installed and is due for completion in early July.
The design is dynamic, interactive and allows for imaginative play, so parents can supervise whilst enjoying a relaxing and comfortable seating area.
"We are really excited to be able to provide our customers with a beautifully designed and dynamic play area for their children," Mr Cochrane said.
"This second stage of the project, once completed, will bring to life the overall vision for Level One."
