The World Cup Dream continues!
That Tweet from Caitlin Foord acknowledged her selection on Tuesday for the Matildas squad to represent Australia at the Women's World Cup in France starting in July.
For the Shellharbour product it will be her third World Cup appearance.
What is even more remarkable about that is she is still just 24.
Foord first announced herself to the world when she won the best young player of the tournament at the World Cup in Germany in 2011.
She was just 16 years old when she was named in the Matildas squad for Germany 2011. The same as Mary Fowler, the 16-year-old emerging talent who spent time at Wollongong School of Performing Arts, who was also included in the Matildas squad and will be a terrific story in her own right.
Foord played every minute of Australia's five appearances at the 2015 World Cup.
In 2019, Foord's role will be even more important as she forms part of one of the world's most deadliest strike forces with Matilda skipper Sam Kerr.
The duo will provide a huge headache for even the best international defenders and much of the focus will be on their partnership going into the World Cup.
And there is so much expectation on the Matildas more broadly, some of which is self-inflicted.
After a recent club match in the US, her last before heading to camp with the Matildas, Kerr cheekily commented to reporters "see you after the World Cup .... with the trophy".
History will recognise Caitlin Foord as one of the greatest athletes the Illawarra has produced.
We suspect there is a few more chapters to be added yet though before that book is closed.
