Over 350 people currently volunteer at Warrigal, and the residents couldn't imagine life without them.
The range of skills they bring is staggering. These volunteers play in bands, they drive residents to the outings which keep them connected to the community, they garden, fundraise, supply pastoral care and chaplaincy, provide comfort and companionship, and support older people in their everyday lives.

Warrigal also appreciates the support of the families and friends of their residents who provide an invaluable service in visiting and providing additional loving attention to residents.
A very special group of volunteers are the Warrigal Board, who through their passion, commitment and expertise across a range of disciplines including law, finance, corporate governance and business, guide the strategic direction.
Most volunteer without any public recognition, however last year, their long-standing volunteer Mary Slater was a finalist at the 2018 Aged & Community Services Australia Awards for NSW/ACT! Mary was recognised for her tireless generosity in caring for and supporting older people.
If you've visited the café located in their Albion Park village in the last 10 years, you would've been greeted by her smile. Mary is an outstanding example of a volunteer giving willingly of her time, energy and friendship.
Volunteers are ordinary people who do extraordinary things for people they may not even know.
For some, volunteering is a great way of giving back to their community. Others volunteer because something needs doing and it brings purpose to their lives.
Time the volunteers give makes such a difference to the lives of the residents and families. Warrigal is grateful for their inspiring volunteers and if you have ever considered volunteering yourself, give it a go, as the volunteers say they gain as much as they give.
