The Warilla round of the Australian Indoor Singles qualification delivered a string of upsets, with five bowlers securing a place in the finals at Tweed Heads BC in August.
Ben Twist (St Johns Park), Gary Sampson (Oak Flats), David Ivanoff (Wagga RSL), Harley McDonald (Engadine), and Mathew Pietersen (St Johns Park) won their section at Warilla to qualify.
Warilla star and two-time Australian Indoor Singles champion Jeremy Henry was beaten in his section to miss out on the 32-man draw. Henry's clubmate Aaron Teys earned a spot in the Australian Indoor Singles field as defending champion.
Zone 16 will also be represented in the men's draw by Gary Sampson who beat Towradgi's Adam Martin in a tight final of Section 5 at Warilla, after Martin had a tie-break win over Henry in their semi-final.
Former Warilla bowler Harley McDonald won a tough Section 8 which included Jesse Noronha and Carl Healey, while Mat Pietersen beat 2017 Australian champion David Ferguson.
