Nonna G is ambassador for the annual fundraiser this year and will officially help kick things off at the Sydney Tower Eye Observation Deck on Thursday. She is famous for her gnoccoloni on Masterchef. But on May 23 she will be cooking up interest in Australia's Biggest Morning Tea.
The Cancer Council fundraiser is recognised as the largest, most successful event of its kind in Australia and in 2018 raised $11.9 million to help beat cancer.
It involves people coming together in groups to raise funds that can make a big difference to others impacted by cancer. Friends, colleagues and members of the community all over Australia enjoy tea and treats and help fund the Cancer Council's life-saving research, prevention, support programs, and information.
The official date is May 23 but morning tea event organisers can pick any date in May or June.
Meanwhile Ms Ottaway's star continues to shine since being one of the most popular contestants on Masterchef last year.
Hundreds of people have turned out to watch the Shellharbour Nonna do cooking demonstrations at Stockland Shellharbour
Her signature dish combining gnocchi and cannelloni has become famous as has her highly praised orange cake.
At one such demonstration at the Stockland shopping centre in July last year Nonna Gina said she wanted to demonstrate "how easy it was to make great meals quickly with Napoli sauce. You can make it any way you want".
She then served up her famous gnoccheloni pasta dish at a pop-up restaurant at Nardi's over two days in August.
She has also spent time in the kitchen of Rick Stein's restaurant at Bannisters in Mollymook.
The Flinders mum is also inspired by Jamie Oliver and has often cooking under the watchful eye of a cardboard cut-out of the famous chef.
Before he success on Masterchef Ms Ottaway was no stranger to success in the cooking realm.
In 2011 she was crowned Australia's Super Cook.
