Parker was selected in the NSW under 14s team despite having only recently turned 13 and still having another year as an under 14 athlete in 2020.
The selection came as a shock for Parker, with the Illawarra Academy of Sport athlete initially aiming to make the team next year.
Parker has had an impressive summer in the pool, producing high-quality performances for her Cronulla 14A side at the NSW and Australian Club Water Polo Championships.
She was also named most valuable player at the Under 12 Balmain Carnival in January and is a member of the NSW Water Polo Academy squad.
The 13-year-old credits her recent success to the support provided by the Illawarra Academy of Sport both in and out of the water.
