On Monday, the newsroom was on a high hearing our suicide prevention campaign had been named a finalist for a 2019 LiFE Award for excellence in suicide prevention.
The next day, this community was rocked by the shocking loss of a mum and her two-year-old at Mnt Keira in the most tragic of circumstances.
In terms of dealing with suicide, society and our community has come a long way.
What the events of this week show is we still have so much further to go.
The Care To QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer campaign told the deeply personal lived experiences of people with suicide to show how hope is never completely lost. There is always hope.
It also encouraged the local community to take the online QPR training course which gives people the toolkit they need to be beacons of hope in the community.
That QPR course is still available for you to access and I'd personally encourage everyone to take the course.
It doesn't take long and is not hard, but it gives you crystal clear reassurance on how you can help someone when they need it most.
If you can spare a few minutes, take the course.
Those few minutes you spare just might help spare a life.
If you are reading this on Sunday morning, the lucky winners of our NRL Dragons' experience will be donning their finery to join us in the chairman's lounge.
It's just another of the varied opportunities we're going to be offering subscribers who support us on our journey.
If you missed out, sorry about that but keep your eye on your email as there will be other opportunities soon.
If you are coming along, see you there and 'Go the Dragons!'.
