But comments from a Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokeswoman suggest that stretch of Picton Road - in the vicinity of the Macarthur Drive intersection - could be in line for upgrades in the future.
Last week, RMS announced plans to install 600 metres of median safety barriers along Picton Road at Cordeaux.
These barriers will join onto the stretch of barriers that already run west from Cordeaux colliery.
"This important safety work will help reduce the likelihood of head-on crashes at this location, which has a poor crash history," RMS said.
"In the five years to June 2018 preliminary data shows there were five crashes recorded within the project area."

However, this area does not take in the locations of two recent fatal truck crashes.

In March 2017. truck drivers Michael Gorman and Adrian Ryan lost their lives in a fiery collision when one truck veered onto the other side of the road.
Then in November last year a Mitsubishi Canter table-top truck and a carrier collided in a similar location.
The cab of the Mitsubishi was crushed the driver died at the scene while the driver of the car carrier was trapped and had to be cut from the wreckage.
The RMS spokeswoman said it has spent more than $60 million on improving Picton Road "with the number of crashes falling by almost 25 per cent in recent years and the incidence of head-on crashes falling by almost 80 per cent".
This latest addition of 600 metres of crash barriers is part of RMS' "ongoing safety assessments of the corridor".
The spokeswoman said more work on the troublesome road was planned.
"Roads and Maritime Services is developing further road safety improvements on Picton Road as part of an additional $200,000 allocation under the Saving Lives on Country Roads program," the spokeswoman said.
"These improvements will include more safety barriers, widened centre lines and audio tactile line marking.
"Locations to be investigated for this work will include areas where crashes have previously occurred."
