Police want to speak to two men who entered the not-for-profit George Cross Falcons Community Centre club on Lake Avenue, Cringila at 8.15am on Monday, March 18.
As reported in the Mercury on March 18, about eight people were inside the community centre preparing for a weekly seniors' lunch event when two masked men entered.
The two men headed towards a hall in the premises where they play Bingo.
They approached a 61-year-old man and demanded he open the safe, which he did.
The men placed the money into a backpack and left the scene.
No weapons were produced during the robbery and the men were seen getting into a silver Holden Commodore that was last seen turning right into Barry Street.
One of the men has been described as being about six feet tall with a solid build, between 80 to 100kg and being aged between 30 and 35.
At the time of the robbery he had his face covered with a ski mask and was wearing black shoes with a black hooded jumper and gloves.
He was carrying a black and blue coloured backpack.
The second man was also wearing a ski mask covering his face. He has a slim build and was also aged between 30 and 35.
The man was wearing black shoes with white socks and black pants with a black hooded jumper.
Office worker and volunteer Elizabeth Walker said at the time that she thought the intrusion was "a joke".
"We were all doing our Monday morning chores ... we were buttering bread, making coffees and then two men walked in," she said.
"We really thought it was a practical joke because they came in, they were very composed and they were very softly spoken and that's why we didn't register what they were really here for.
"They opened the safe, he proceeded to empty the safe and a couple of us still thought it was a joke.
"I panicked and my heart was just going a hundred miles an hour. We were all in shock."
Mrs Walker said the "horrible act" would take some time to get over.
