Last year's grand finalists are the only two teams yet to have suffered a defeat this season and racked up a combined 110 points between them in round-five wins.
The Devils cruised to a 60-4 win over third-placed Corrimal at Parrish Park, while the Butchers ran in nine tries to two in a 50-10 win over Helensburgh at Gibson Park.
Wests skipper Mitch Porter kicked a perfect 10-10 with the boot and bagged two tries in a 28-point individual knock, while fullback Tony Pellow grabbed a hat-trick.
It was a merciless performance from the defending premiers, who led 36-0 at the break and went on with it in the second in a complete performance.
"I thought we didn't really build pressure well last week against Collies and made a lot of errors," coach Pete McLeod said.
"They were disappointing sort of unforced errors, concentration type things, so we had a big focus on the basics and getting through that.
"We thought if we could build some pressure we'd get some joy at the back end and that happened."
A week after kicking the match-winning field goal against Collies from fullback, Zac Greene was outstanding at five-eighth for the Devils in the absence of Rhys Hanbury.
He also spent time at dummy-half as McLeod tinkered with his side in the second half. Where they all ultimately fit remains to be seen but it's a formidable arsenal.
"We've got a lot of footballers in the team, not just blokes who play one position, they can play in three or four different spots," McLeod said.
"You can throw them in anywhere and they can do a job. They've all trained hard, they're all ready to go and they're all first-graders so where we put everybody's the burning question. I guess we'll see."
The Butchers were equally impressive in their rout against the Tigers with Jake Walsh grabbing a hat-trick and kicking seven goals in the win.
It makes Saturday's showdown at Gibson Park the biggest of the season so far, but McLeod said the trip up the Princes Highway is always the measuring stick for his club.
"The grand final was was a long time ago so we haven't spoken or thought about it this year at all but whenever a Wests' team goes to Gibson Park they know the reception they're going to get," he said.
"It's as tough as anywhere in country footy to go and win. The players are ready for it and they're going to enjoy the week.
"As much as the Thirroul fans like to give it to us, our boys love going there to play as well. That's how you're judged as a player at Wests, how you perform when you play against the best teams in the comp.
"We're going to have to be really good to put up a show there."
Elsewhere Berkeley kept themselves in the finals hunt with a 28-14 win over the Canaries at Dapto Showground, with fullback Jason Gillard finishing with four tries.
