Once again a diverse range of musicians have been curated for the October long-weekend event, with local talent and international stars playing across four stages in Stuart Park.
Leading the charge is Courtney Barnett, Golden Features, Hotdub Time Machine, Slumberjack, Sneaky Sound System, Thundamentals, Vera Blue and Gold Coast starlett Amy Shark.
For 33-year-old Shark, it is still quite surreal all the attention and gigs she has been receiving since releasing the song Adore nearly two years ago - despite trying to forge a a career as a singer-songwriter for the last decade.
She now performs to sold out crowds, has appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and her hit I Said Hi was awarded the peer-voted APRA Song of the Year.
"I think it'll always feel a little weird," Shark told the Illawarra Mercury.
"Some days I'll have a good day where I'll feel like I'm meant to be hear, some days I feel like I'm a bit out of my league and I need people around me to say 'no you're not, like, everything's good'.
"You never dream something like this will happen to your life."
Meantime, ABC Illawarra radio host and guitarist of punk rockers Frenzal Rhomb, Lindsay "The Doctor" McDougall, was also excited to be named on the bill.
"Very excited to play such an amazing festival, even more excited that it's at the second closest beach to my house, and about a 15 minute bike ride home afterwards," he told the Mercury.
"We've been going to Yours & Owls for years, I even learned a Totally Unicorn song and played it with them in return for a ticket a couple of years ago, so playing Frenzal songs will be almost as good.
"But no after-parties at our house after it wraps up sorry, I've gotta work on Monday."
Frenzal originally rose to prominence in the 1990s with songs like Punch in the Face, Disappointment and Never Had So Much Fun. Their last album, Hi-Vis High Tea released in 2017, reached ninth on the ARIA Album Charts - wedged between two Ed Sheeran albums at the time.
The Yours and Owls Festival is an 18+ event, and will run across October 5 and 6.
Organisers have not said whether they will also run an all-ages event to accommodate younger music fans like previous years.
