What Wollongong City Council engineers do not accept is the eyewitness accounts from 2012 and 2016 floods where both reported they were hit with a wall of water from JJ Kelly Park that was strong enough the push the doors of a premise open and lead to flooding above floor level.
Nor is WCC prepared to consider the impact of the construction of an embankment across the major flood route through the golf course just south of Swan Street, that was built prior to 2012, as compensation for the Links building.
Nor do they appear to accept the flood level significantly increased between 2005 levels and today's levels.
Locals reported a maximum flood level at "2nd step" for many, many years, prior to the embankment and at "5th step" post the embankment.
So it appears the latest exercise has been a waste of effort as the 'root cause of analysis' has not been done or considered.
To reduce the flooding levels back to pre 2007, all WCC need do, is to remove the embankment in the Golf Course and allow the golf course to act in accordance with its primary purpose, as a major flood pathway.

FLYING THE FLAG
Regarding he Indigenous National Rugby League round.
Last Sunday I noted WIN Stadium was resplendent with Aboriginal and Torres Strait flags.
However, the absence of an Australia flag was also notable. Why?
Aren't we all inclusive Australians?
The absence of the latter has the uncanny ability to engender unwanted criticism and sarcasm.

SLAVING AWAY
The result of the federal election is in and as I read it most Australians think 'Greed is Good'.
So why should anyone work?
Let every bus driver, teacher, nurse, etc, buy shares or rental properties and retire.
It doesn't matter if you get a return or not the Government will sponsor you and your choice of investment, good or bad.
So who will do the work?
Those who cannot afford shares or property will become the slave class.
This class will work for subsistence wages, stopping them being able to save to invest.
In fact why even pay them, they should be grateful for a loaf of bread and a hand full of grain per week.
After all slavery is all through the bible , this way people can express their, until now, suppressed religious freedom through slavery etc.
So let's sell everything we can dig up, chop down or catch to overseas interests so we can keep our slaves employed.
