There, Dent will compete against athletes from 10 countries in the Asia Pacific to earn selection in the final 10-boy Asia Pacific squad to compete at the Jr. NBA Global Championship in Orlando in August.
The teenager has emerged as one of Australia's top junior basketballers and he said he's looking forward to challenging himself against top international players.
"I'm pretty excited for the camp," Dent said. "l am most looking forward to getting the opportunity to travel overseas to compete against and with some of the best guys my age outside of Australia."
Dent's selection for the event comes after an impressive run of form including a dominant performance for Illawarra at last year's Australian Club Championships.
Dent averaged 24.4 points as he led the Hawks to fourth place and was the third-leading point scorer at the tournament.
Dent has been selected to compete in Indonesia alongside Sunshine Coast's Summah Hanson and Eltham Wildcats coach Craig Stratford. Basketball Australia's Peter Lonergan said the selection marks a major career opportunity for the athletes.
"Summah and Joshua will have a great basketball and cultural experience at the camp, and I know they will represent Australia and their local associations wonderfully well," Lonergan said.
