The accident happened southbound on the highway, near the Riverside Drive exit, just before 2pm.
Emergency services - including paramedics, police and firefighters - are on the scene.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said three paramedic crews responded to the crash and when they arrived on scene all occupants were out of the vehicles.
No one required transport to hospital, the spokesman said.
It is unknown if there were passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.
Both southbound lanes of the highway are closed. However, traffic is passing the accident scene using the shoulder.
Heavy northbound traffic is flowing freely past the scene, although motorists have been urged to exercise caution in the area.
Meanwhile, an elderly woman has escaped serious injury after being struck by a car at Corrimal earlier on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Railway Street, near the Princes Highway, about 1.05pm following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
The spokesman said two crews responded to the accident.
An elderly woman, whose age was unknown, was assessed at the scene. She was conscious and breathing, and "in relatively good spirits", he said.
The woman was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition. No details about any injuries were available.
