On their 130th anniversary weekend, the Sharks outclassed Fernhill 3-1 despite a determined second-half push from the Foxes.
Woonona were three goals up at half-time after two quick goals before the break, but Jack Lombo headed home off a well-worked corner to offer Fernhill hope.
However, Woonona kept their two goal advantage to ensure they are fifth on the ladder on 20 points, three behind second-placed Corrimal and six adrift of leaders Olympic. Rangers continued their remarkable rise, beating champions Bulli 2-nil, despite Lukas Stergiou being sent off with half-an-hour remaining after tempers frayed between the two teams.
Tomiki Wada's free kick handed Corrimal the lead in the moments before half-time, before Van Elia finished it off in the 85th minute.
South Coast United kept their top-flight torch burning, beating Tarrawanna 3-2.
