Australia's largest independent awards program recognising excellence in young lawyers seeks out those raising the bar on what it means to be a next generation leader. Mr Peterson feels he made the list not only because of his technical skill but the steps taken by RMB Lawyers to support and provide him with opportunities. In his submission Mr Peterson cited his age as one of the main obstacles that he has had to address in his career to date.
"One challenge I've had to overcome in my practice area has been my age. But being able to provide comprehensive and accurate advice to clients, as well as having the full support of senior practitioners in our firm has assisted me in being able to assure clients that we are in a position to assist them".
Managing partner Craig Osborne said it is important for the industry to understand that there are more important factors than age.
"In my view, if you are good enough you are old enough. The Lawyers Weekly's 30 Under 30 gives that message," he said.
"Bradley is an outstanding lawyer who is more than worthy of this recognition, and as a firm we congratulate him. He works tirelessly and with great skill for our clients, expertly guiding them through the complex legal process. He cares deeply about people, is a natural leader and carries an incredibly strong work ethic. It is clear to me that he can match any young lawyer in Australia; the world is his oyster".
Mr Osborne said with an enduring focus on enhancing the legal offering in regional Australia, RMB Lawyers recognised the importance of building the careers of talented young lawyers. To this end, developing young lawyers is among the Firm's top priorities.
"We look to recruit and develop talented and aspiring young lawyers who are willing to get in the trenches with us and do what is required to truly support our clients," he said.
Lawyers Weekly editor Emma Ryan said each year the number of entries for 30 Under 30 grows, meaning it's no easy feat in securing a finalist position.
"By doing so, the lawyer has demonstrated professional excellence and positioned themselves among the go-to lawyers in their practice area. With such vast competition among Australia's legal community, we're proud to provide a platform to recognise the young lawyers who are going above and beyond for their clients and the community at large," Ms Ryan said.
