The grand final of Division 1 (6-set format) was played between Gilmore Park 1, minor premiers and City 1 who finished second, less than 10 points behind.
The teams on the night were Lachlan Kerr, Andrew Bronneberg and Aaron McRae for Gilmore Park and Daryl Orr, Paul Warren and Darren Moffitt for City.
Gilmore Park had the lower handicap and won the first 3 sets 6-2, 6-2, 6-2.
Then Paul and Darren won the next set 6-1 from Lachlan and Andrew which put the match back into contention again. Lachlan and Aaron put the result out of reach by beating Daryl and Paul 6-3 in the fifth set.
In the 3-set format divisions, minor premiers Aces 1 (Haydn and Stuart Hunt) hung on to beat the fast finishing Windang 1 (Tom Stratton and Harrison Webb), who finished fourth by winning all the sets, one in a tie-break.
In the second division of the 3-set format, second placed Aces 4 (Andrew Spence and Jayden Zamuner) upset the minor premiers Gilmore Park 1A (Ian Swainson and Len Phillips) by winning the first two sets 6-3, 6-1.
Windang 2 (David Stratton and Heath Sangster) as minor premiers of division 3 beat the third placed Unanderra 1 (Cosmo Dove and Chris Smileski) by winning all 3 sets 6-1, 6-2, 6-4.
Finally in division 4, minor premiers Meadows 2A (Daniel and John Cheung) confirmed their rating by beating the fourth placed Aces 9 (David and Tom Bannigan) 6-1, 6-2.
Corpus Christi Success
Corpus Christi High School Girl's tennis team have faced off against the state's top Catholic schools at the recent Combined Catholic Colleges NSW Championships in Bathurst.
The team, consisting of Lola Bruton, Alyssa Norris, Natasha Mitchell and Olivia Payer, played extremely well throughout the competition and returned home with a bronze medal.
The girls qualified for the state finals by claiming the Wollongong Diocesan 2 for the second-straight year.
