The Wolves generated numerous chances in last week's loss to Sydney United 58, however they struggled to convert those opportunities into goals, with United 58 ultimately making Wollongong pay in the dying minutes.

With the Wolves five points clear on the ladder, and Sydney FC sitting in 11th, a Wollongong win is crucial.

"The game can't come quick enough," Wilkshire said. "The boys have been back at it at training and are looking forward to getting back to our winning ways.

"The key is execution, it's something that's been very good all season, but it didn't happen last week. It's all about concentration and execution on the final pass and final finish. I have no doubt it will improve on Sunday."

Sydney United 58 played a physical style, with Wolves attackers Thomas James and Takeru Okada coming under heavy scrutiny.

Wilkshire was disappointed the referees allowed the United 58 defenders so much latitude, but he's confident that if Sydney FC replicate those tactics, his players have the ability to adapt their play.

"There's a physical aspect of the game which is acceptable, last week they went a bit beyond that. We've got to concentrate on doing what we do best and hope for a little bit more protection from the referees.

"We will adapt, we have to adapt. The team is under the spotlight because of what we're doing and how we're playing, we've just got to learn to adapt."
