One of the three southbound lanes was closed about 5.30pm due to separate car crashes near Clive Bissell Dr and the Mount Pleasant Rd overpass.
Roads and Maritime Service has since cleared the crashes and all lanes are now open.
Southbound traffic remains heavy, with motorists warned to allow extra travel time.
