  • SLIDESHOW: Weekend sporting actionMorgan is the video analyst among Jan Versleijen's staff, coached Blacktown's Under 20s to this year's NSW Premier Youth League preliminary final and is the head coach at football powerhouse Westfields Sports High.WCFC officials regard his acquisition as a coup in its bid to remain in the NSW Premier League.Football NSW is expected to decide whether to relegate WCFC in favour of Super League champions Rockdale City in December. Morgan vowed to come on board even if WCFC are relegated."I'm happy to coach either way, obviously being in the NSW Premier League is better and would help keep the juniors here," he said.Morgan, who was lured to WCFC by outgoing coach Glenn Fontana, declared the club's junior focus attractive."Glenn has been instrumental in wanting me to come to the club - they want a successful team and kids from the area to progress up the ranks," he said."It's easy to throw money at a first grade team and think everything's good but Glenn and his staff have done a lot of work with the kids and want the first team to be an opportunity for them."Morgan plans to use his extensive list of contacts to start recruiting for next season immediately."There are players I have been involved with through the school that I will be encouraging to come here," he said."I certainly don't want them to take over the club but the youngsters who are here will also need some senior players to steer them around the park."Morgan also plans to attract high-profile Illawarra Mercury Premier League players.
