SkateFest Kiama will be held from July 12-14 at Kiama skatepark.
The three-day festival will showcase all aspects of skateboarding, with coaching programs, demonstrations, competitions, merchandise and products stalls.
Festival highlights include a skateboarding contest, a demonstration from regional state champions, Gerringong Surf School will host learn to skate workshops, Olliesonny will teach a girls workshops, there will be skateboarding painting session with Art by Jason plus stalls and food trucks.
Australia Skateboarding is hosting the event. General manager Donny Fraser said there would be lots to see and do.
"Spectators can see the top skaters in the state compete and there will be some local skaters trying to get a podium spot because the winners can then go to the big Rumble on the Reef competition," he said.
"The festival will be a good way to showcase local talent.
"We are also raising money to help a Wollongong Australian champion Dani Campbell go to the Olympics."
Mr Fraser said the festival would have an economic benefit for the town.
He is expecting about 50 competitors to participate and thousands of spectators across the three days.
"We find when we hold an event in a regional town then everyone in the town gets behind it," he said.
"The competitors and spectators stay at the same hotels and go to the same restaurants.
"The event will highlight what the town has to offer.
"Regional towns don't get many skateboarding competitions so it is nice to be able to bring a festival to the region."
There will also be an after party on the Saturday night where people can meet the competitors.
Residents can now book tickets to the event.
