Most anglers sat it out to earn brownie points from the little lady of the house while some took the weekend to service all their gear and or boats for when the weather plays the game again.
Offshore the sea surface temperature charts are starting to show some favourable water in reach of most trailer boats off Jervis Bay and further south.
There were a few tuna caught earlier in the week as part of the Canberra Yellowfin Tournament out of Bermi but the conditions were very challenging to say the least.
Commercial longliners headed back out after being stuck at the docks over the weekend due to the weather but all reports suggest that they are working well wide off Bermi and targeting blue fin.
There has been some good snapper fishing recently off our coast, that is, when the weather windows offered a quick opportunity to get out.
There were plenty of good sized fish ranging from 1.5 to 3 kilos with healthy numbers too.
Most of the fish have been coming from a depth out to 50 metres and most have been finding the better fish on the pick as opposed to the drift.
There have still been plenty of bait pods about too and once you find those the reds have not been far away.
Both plastics and fresh squid, pillies and cuttley sections have been popular.
There were some good reports of kings down around Port Kembla with plenty of land-based anglers getting into them as well.
Not huge fish but plenty of legals with the boat crews using down riggers to slow troll livies.
Beaches have been fishing pretty good of late with plenty of small school mulloway about as well as some monster bream that have been devouring baits intended for a jewie with quite a few getting 8 and 9/0 hooks down their throats.
Rocks are still seeing plenty of stud sized blackfish and drummer about both on weed and royal reds.
