"I can't wait to see everybody at the Illawarra Regional Airport when we touch down in the 707," Travolta said in a video message.
In the short video, posted to the Oak Flats and Shellharbour Community Bank Branches Facebook page on Friday, he also thanked Bendigo Bank and the community bank branches for their support.
On Thursday, it was confirmed John Travolta will fly into the Illawarra on the Boeing 707 he donated to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society as part of the flight crew.
The donation was first announced in 2017, however transporting the plane to the Illawarra was delayed because of costs involved in maintaining the aircraft and flying it to the region as a transport category airline.
HARS president Bob De La Hunty said the plane will now be flown here under a private category which decreases the associated costs.
He said Travolta had cleared his filming schedule to ensure he would be on the November flight into the Illawarra.
