Warrawong Family Fun Day, July 9
The NAIDOC Family Fun Day returns to the Greene Street Reserve in Warrawong on Tuesday, July 9, from 10am to 4pm. Enjoy the many free events, including Welcome to Country, lunch, entertainment and giveaways. Port Kembla Public School Choir will provide entertainment, as will Aboriginal singers, dancers, didgeridoo players and other musical performances.
NAIDOC at Koonawarra, July 11
Head to Koonawarra Community Centre on Thursday, July 11, from 10am-2pm for a free BBQ, smoking ceremony, family fun, performances and kids activities.
Wollongong City Libraries
Wollongong libraries are celebrating United Nations International Year of Indigenous Languages by holding a film festival featuring Indigenous voices from around the world.
The first week of the festival in July coincides with NAIDOC Week and features Australian Indigenous content, with the second week highlighting movies that tell Indigenous stories from across the world.
The festival will take place July 5-19 at the Dapto, Warrawong, Wollongong, Corrimal and Thirroul libraries with tea and cake served at each session.
