Heathcote MP and new minister Paul McLeay has denied he was the politician who leaked to the media details of the party that cost Kiama MP Matt Brown his position as police minister. On the first Parliament sitting day since Mr McLeay was made Ports Minister last week, the Opposition on Tuesday questioned him about his role in the underpants scandal last year.Nationals MP Adrian Piccoli asked: "Given that the Premier has set (a) criteria of loyalty and unity in his Cabinet, and given his desire to end the soap opera, did the minister have any involvement in briefing the media on the events that led to the former police minister Matt Brown being dismissed?"Mr McLeay responded: "No."At the time of the story in September last year, dumped planning minister Frank Sartor was rumoured to be the unidentified source. This was denied by the journalist who broke the story.Mr Brown was forced to resign after he was accused of dancing on a sofa in his underwear during a party in his office. He admitted he made a mistake by behaving in a manner "not befitting a minister".
