Destination Wollongong is on the hunt for two "resident photo-takers" to shoot much loved locations around the city.

The chosen photographers will receive a $1000 contract, with their images to be used for the upcoming 2020 Visitor Guide and new website to be launched.

Amateur, emerging and professional photographers are invited to apply, and can enter as many times as they wish.

The competition will run until Sunday August 4 to "source new destination images and identify emerging photographers to engage with", according to organisers.

Photographers can submit their work via social media, tagging @VisitWollongong along with the #wollongongphototaker on the post. They are also required to send a high resolution image to phototaker@wollongong.nsw.gov.au
