The 21-year-old died in mysterious circumstances on April 27.

His body was found in a burnt-out car crashed into a tree at Narrawa on June 9.

Mr Pearce's friend Justin Wall has organised a vehicle convoy for those who want to say goodbye.

"I knew Gary for 20 years and we were always into cars and trucks," he said.

"Both our dad's drive tricks, I drive one for a living and Gary wanted to but he could never keep his licence.

"Anyone can come along to celebrate Gary's life."

Hundreds gathered at a Kembla Grange chapel to farewell their friend on Thursday.

Mr Wall expected many people to participate in the cruise and Gary's father, Gary Sr Pearce will have his son's ashes ride along with him.

"It will be nice for those who did not attend the funeral to be able to say goodbye," Mr Wall said.

Drivers can meet at Wollongong Lighthouse from 4pm and the convoy will leave at 6pm. Drivers will take the coastal route down to Kiama. Mr Wall said the respectful cruise would not involve any reckless driving and police were aware of the event.
