The Fairy Meadow man racked up his 92nd set of criminal charges earlier this month when he broke into the garage of a unit complex near his home and nicked a $1,700 Giant mountain bike, complete with baby seat.
Court documents said Murray used a fishing rod with a metal hook attached to the end to manipulate the door latch and gain access to the complex on July 5.
He rummaged around on the eastern side of the communal garage, trying to unchain a group of bikes but was disturbed by a foyer light being activated.
He then moved to the western side, saw the Giant, cut its chain off and wheeled it out the fire escape door.
Murray was arrested on July 10 and charged with breaking and entering, however the bike was not recovered.
Murray pleaded guilty to the charge in court on Monday and remains behind bars.
His lawyer said he would seek to have the case dealt with under mental health legislation when it returned in September.
