The Raiders were considering fighting the grade three dangerous throw charge, after coach Ricky Stuart defended the centre.
But the Raiders decided to enter an early guilty plea to avoid further punishment and opted against rolling the dice at the NRL judiciary later this week.
Cotric will next be available for selection for round 21 for the clash against the Sydney Roosters at Canberra Stadium on August 11.
The 20-year-old has endured a roller-coaster year in his third NRL season.
He made his State of Origin debut last month, but injured his ankle while playing for the Raiders and only made his comeback against the St George Illawarra Dragons on Sunday night.
He scored the opening try against the Dragons, but then became the first player of the season to be sent off when his tackle on Lafai went horrible wrong.
Momentum and Cotric's power put Lafai in an awkward position, lifting him above the horizontal and going head first into the ground.
Lafai avoided injury, but Cotric was sent off. He was the first player sent off for a dangerous tackle since 1995.
"That was not an intentional spear tackle. Whoever thinks it's a spear tackle does not know rugby league," Stuart said.
"It was unintentional, it got away on him a little bit and I understand that, and that's an accident.
"Nick's got no malice in him at all and it ended up in him being on the wrong end of it in regards to being sent off."
