The Links Shell Cove and Gerringong teams had both won their divisions in very close finishes, to make the final.
The talented Links Shell Cove team - featuring Kath Tanner, Chris Tolhurst, Sarah Ryan, Danni Vasquez, Kerry Michie, Sue Lacey and Leonie Williams - prevailed three matches to one, with the final game called in as the Pennant had been decided.
Meanwhile, Kiama has won the junior pennant crown for the fifth consecutive year. The first leg held at Wollongong saw Kiama defeat Wollongong 4.5-1.5, which meant Kiama only needed to secure two matches to win the title.
Kiama who had several players unavailable and could only field five players, still prevailed 3.5-2.5 in near-gale forced winds.
The top two golfers play off scratch with Kiama's more experienced Ethan Harvey and Will Blomley too good in their matches.
Harvey defeated Lara Thomsen 7/6, with Blomley was a 5/4 winner against Aksel Thomsen. The next four golfers played handicap match play, Harrison Kiteley defeating Callum Cooney 6/4, while Heath Wheeler pulled one back for Wollongong against Broc Callaghan.
The other match between Jett Parker (Kiama) and Mimi Thomsen (Wollongong) finished all square.
Holz's cup
Thomas Holz from Links Shell Cove defied the high winds to claim the Shoalhaven Cup at Nowra on Saturday, on a countback from The Grange's Ben Howchin after both shot 72.
With the win, Holz has jumped to second in the Illawarra Open Series.
Final eight
Links Shell Cove advanced to the final eight of the state masters pennants, where they will meet Muree Golf Club, based outside Newcastle, at Sydney's Cromer course on Sunday.
The top seeds prevailed against Magenta Shores at Cabramatta to advance, as Les Legradi defeated Craig Plummer 3/1, Graeme Leake defeated Ross Liddle 2/1, and Grant Meredith defeated Ray Miles 3/2.
Craig Thompson Links' other winner, beating Michael Burke 5/4.
