Luke from Leisure Coast Bait and Tackle at Corrimal says there has not a great deal to report due to nearly two weeks of this westerly blowing. It's kept many off the water for far too long but it looks like there may be a weather window for this coming tomorrow.
Everyone is champing at the bit whether it be chasing tuna out wide or chasing some bread and butter tasties from the rocks.
Many of the game boys will be listening to the radio chatter with great interest to hopefully hear where and how wide the tuna are and of any captures before they make the decision to push out and chase them.
For those after snapper, there have been a lot of cuttlefish bones coming ashore of late so hopefully the bigger reds will move in to feed on them in the coming weeks.
Again very little to report owing to the foul weather and winds but again, the reddie devotees are backed in, boat ready to hook up and rearing to go if the weather allows.
Those who just had to get out and wet a line have been chasing luderick, drummer and bream but with that said it has been super tricky with the flat crystal clear conditions, so hopefully the bit of bump we are seeing this week should stir everything up again for the coming weekend.
A couple of customers came in the shop over the last weekend and hatched a plan to chase groper off the rocks where they have seen them diving.
The flat conditions allowed them to collect a few crabs and urchins for berley and they had a ball landing three browns to 2-3kgs and one big blue of estimated 6 kilos, that were all released after a few happy snaps to silence to doubters.
