Christopher Eakin, 35, was originally facing two counts of disseminating child abuse material and one count of possessing child abuse material following a police raid on his Cliff Road home in January this year.
The charges stem from an alert received from the US-based National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about suspected child abuse material being uploaded to Google from a mobile phone linked to Eakin.
The pictures allegedly showed pre-pubescent children in various sexual acts.
A further report was received a month later, this time with claims Eakin had uploaded child pornography files to Twitter.
Court documents said the NCMEC has linked Eakin to more than 150 child abuse images online, alleged to have been uploaded in 44 different transactions.
Wollongong detectives seized USB devices, mobile phones and computer equipment during a search of his house.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges, which had been due for hearing on August 5.
However, it was agreed the case could not proceed as scheduled after police laid four more charges against Eakin late last month.
They include two more counts of disseminating child abuse material, allegedly via mobile phone and email accounts, and one count each of using a carriage service to transmit child pornography to self and using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material from overseas.
The case was adjourned to September 11 for further mention. Eakin remains behind bars, bail refused.
