STAMP OUT RACISM
I have just watched The Final Quarter; a film made about the vilification of Adam Goodes, AFL legend, dual Brownlow Medalist and Australian of the Year.

It was brilliant but at the same time very sad that one man had to tolerate such abhorrent behaviour, not only from the so-called football fans but from the AFL who said so much and did so little and the media who reported what they wanted to and not what was actually said. You should be bloody ashamed of yourselves.
If we, as first, second, third or fourth Australians, want to stamp out racism in this country, then this film should be shown in all high schools because those kids are Australia's future.

A 'MORAL RESPONSIBILITY'
In response to the page 10 article 'Palmer vows to fight liquidators (Illawarra Mercury, Tuesday July 16, 2019), Mr Palmer states: "I have a moral responsibility not to give up. It's (for) the greater good".
Really? And just who's "greater good" are we talking about with all this "sudden" high moral tone, Mr Palmer?
I recall how you avoided, dismissed and took legal action in order to deprive your employees of their wages and payments when your Queensland resort closed.
Apparently, Mr Palmer did not consider this a "moral responsibly or obligation"?
How convenient that Mr Palmer just chooses what he considers moral and just.
Employees have to work that much hard to be credible with business people such as Mr Palmer.

PLAYING IT SAFE
Free or cheap electricity for residents living near a nuclear power station has been proposed by Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce.
He is making the point strongly that nuclear electricity generation does not cause any carbon "pollution" whatsoever so that should eliminate the greenies concern about "climate change". However, the greenies do not want nuclear power either.
Bob Brown refuses to allow a large wind-farm in Tasmania. So the greenies even attack renewables as a source of electricity.
It seems that the most appropriate source of safe, reliable, electricity supply is coal powered electricity.
Should Australia investigate building High Energy, Low Emissions (HELE) coal powered electricity generators as other major nations have built them already and the technology is proven?

AN AMAZING DAY
Wollongong City Beach - take a bow.
The organization of last Sunday's Illawarra Cancer Carers "Banquet on the Beach" was a huge success - and fully booked out.
The bidding for such things as memorabilia, lunches and holidays was fully supported - we scored a seven-night holiday - cant wait.
The guest speakers were amazing as I met many of the Cancer Carers during my late wife's illness.
Scott Radburn - you are one talented dude!
You had the audience enthralled - especially with your rendition of "You raise me up".
Fantastic day.
