Hunt has played the majority of his professional career in Europe, and the 30-year-old is looking forward to plying his trade in Australia.
"It's a new opportunity, a new country I haven't been to before and, to be playing for a great club, is something I'm really looking forward to," Hunt said.
"I play with a lot of passion and a lot of heart. I love to compete each and every chance I get on the court. I try to make as many plays as possible for the team.
Hunt played with Wildcats MVP Bryce Cotton in 2018 at Brescia Leonessa in the top-tier Italian league.
Cotton believes Hunt will fit well into the Wildcats' system.
"Dario's really easy to get along with but, most importantly, a great player with a great IQ," Cotton said.
"He's going to be an integral part of our team this year, for sure."
Hunt is the team's third import, joining Cotton and last year's grand-final MVP Terrico White.
