A police officer has been injured during a rescue operation for a fisherman who fell into the water near Kiama's Little Blowhole on Sunday morning.

Witnesses told police they saw a rock angler enter the water at about 8.50am.
Emergency services including four ambulance crews attended.
Kiama Surf Life Saving members responded and found the fisherman in the water.
He was receiving treatment on shore from NSW Ambulance paramedics.
The fisherman sustained minor abrasions, did not require transport to hospital and has since gone home.
During the operation, a male senior constable slipped on the rocks, sustaining a suspected fractured left leg.
He is being stretchered out of the area by rescue personnel.
The officer aged in his 30s was taken to Wollongong Hospital.
