After taking out the competition in 2018, the girls returned to the finals at GIANTS Stadium in a bid to secure back-to-back trophies.
After impressing throughout the pool stages on Monday, the girls claimed a 14-7 semi-final victory over Wilkins Public School to book a spot in the final, where they took on St Catherine's Catholic College.
There, it was St Catherine's who proved too good, with the team from Singleton taking out the final 19-13 in a hard-fought affair.
Despite the defeat, Lindsay Park coach Simon Irish said the girls enjoyed the competition.
"Today was all about enjoyment, and I couldn't be any prouder of these girls for the hard work and dedication that they have shown in the lead up and in today's finals," Irish said.
"The game just keeps growing in the school and there was huge excitement about coming here today and defending the title in GIANTS stadium.
"What matters at the end of the day is how much these girls love the game, and they certainly do."
Wollongong was also represented in the boys competition, with Flinders Public School battling it out for state supremacy.
The boys struggled throughout the day, with Flinders losing all four of their matches. The competition was eventually claimed by Albury, who defeated last year's winners Knox.
Like Irish, Flinders coach Paul Brown said his boys enjoyed the opportunity to play Australian football against children from across the state.
"It's just been a thrill for our boys to compete at GIANTS stadium, in a sport that many of them are very new to," Brown said. "The majority of our boys come from a rugby league background, but they have really taken to AFL and just love the rough and tumble of it.
"It's fantastic to get to this stage this year and something the boys will remember for a very long time indeed."
