This year, the Kevin Walsh Oval based club have decided to support The Mindset Project - a group that has a significant meaning to a lot of people within the club, following the tragic death of Joey Rose last year.

Developed by Manly-Warringah's Joel Thompson in 2012, the organisation aims to help people change the perception they have of themselves and what they are capable of achieving - while addressing any mental health issues they might have.

"Obviously over the past 12 months we've dealt with the loss of Joey [Rose] as a club and The Mindset Project was the charity chosen by his family to support during that time," Superoos first grade captain/coach Jono Dallas said.

"It was a really easy choice for us this year."

Dallas' club take pride in giving back to the community, which has seen them support LIVIN, Cure for Brain Cancer, the Rural Fire Brigade, Beyond Blue and the Kidz Wish foundation, in the past.

"It's something that's fairly easy for a footy club to do and sporting clubs are great avenues to raise awareness about quality organisations that are out there trying to make a difference in some way," he said.

"We'll try to raise a little bit of money along the way but it's more about supporting initiatives such as The Mindset Project, and specifically this year, trying to eliminate the negative stigma that can sometimes surround mental illness."

Saturday at Kevin Walsh Oval will kick-off at 10am with Jamberoo's women's league tag two clash with Berry-Shoalhaven Heads.

This will be followed by Superoos vs Magpies (WLT at 11am), Jamberoo vs Robertson (third grade at 12pm), Jamberoo vs Berry (reserve grade at 1.30pm) and Roos vs Magpies (first grade at 3pm).

"The main representation [on the day] will be with all grades wearing the one-off The Mindset Project jerseys," Dallas said.

"Players and supporters will be able to purchase these, with the profits all going towards our donation.

"We'll have donation boxes as well for anyone at the ground who wishes to contribute throughout the day - but more than anything, this initiative has always been about raising awareness for the cause."

On the field, Dallas' first grade side will be out to return to the winner's circle on Saturday, after being upset by Albion Park-Oak Flats last round.

"It's important to put in a strong performance over these last two weeks, to sharpen us up for finals," he said.

"We really didn't show up last week which was disappointing for all of the boys.

"But in the grand scheme of things, it's all about earning a good position in the top five and playing well in the games that matter.

"So a couple of solid games now will see us in the top two, which would be a great reward for our regular season."

Other first grade fixtures in round 17 will see Gerringong host Shellharbour, Warilla-Lake South battle Stingrays and Kiama take on Nowra-Bomaderry - with Albion Park-Oak Flats having the bye.
