Both teams have been walking the finals tightrope, but it was Matt Clarke's men who delivered in style, grounding the Jets 46-12.

Clarke was satisfied with the Knights' ability to wear down Nowra, who have come off the boil after a red-hot month, before losses to Jamberoo and Kiama either side of beating Warilla.

"We needed to complete and go set-for-set with Nowra, we identified it as a way to winning the game," Clarke said. "It was sort of a stop-start game in the second half, but to run out winners (like that) is pretty please.

"Cam (Vazzoler) was good, I thought Marto (hooker Daniel Martin) is starting to play really well now, he's probably my player of the match. And our middles Luke Chalker and Tyler Clark."

Elsewhere, Shellharbour are poised to edge out Jamberoo for the minor premiership after a 30-12 win over finals rivals Gerringong at Michael Cronin Oval.

The reigning premiers signalled their intentions to defend the crown by leading 26-nil at half-time.

The Sharks have the bye in the last round following the demise of Milton-Ulladulla, but Jamberoo would need to put a record score on winless Stingrays to move past them on for-and-against and earn the first weekend of finals off.

After a torrid season, the Stingrays can take great encouragement for the future after a desperate 22-16 loss to Warilla, whose season is still alive if they can topple Albion Park-Oak Flats and Nowra go down to Gerringong in the final round.
