The Jillaroos will tackle the Kiwis at WIN Stadium on October 25, before the Kangaroos clash with New Zealand.
Wollongong last hosted an international in 2014, when Australia thrashed Samoa 44-18 in the Four Nations and also held a 2008 World Cup game, when Fiji stunned France 42-6.
"Trans-Tasman rivalry showcases everything that is great about our game," said NZ Rugby League Chief Executive Officer Greg Peters.
The fixture comes after the success of the first ever Super League game played outside of Europe, when eventual champions Wigan defeated Hull last year.
