DPI/ Fisheries at Port Stephens have completed the first Australian bass stocking for the season with 72,500 of these fantastic native sportfish released into numerous impoundments.

This is half the proposed annual allocation for these dams and follow up stockings will result in 80,000 juvenile bass for Glenbawn Dam, 50,000 for Glennies Creek Dam and 15,000 for Lostock Dam.
Over the coming months DPI will stock up to 40 eastern impoundments with 350,000 juvenile bass, ensuring we all enjoy great fishing opportunities for this hugely popular native species.
