The Corpus Christi student was invited to compete in the amateur skateboard park division at the X Games in Minnesota, the biggest action sports competition in the world.
A couple of falls, including one that caused a concussion, saw Woolley finish in fifth position.
The event came just weeks after Woolley competed in the latest Olympic qualifier, a competition where the 15-year-old had much more success.
Competing in the International Skateboard Open in Nanjing, China, Woolley was able to beat out a number of experienced riders to progress beyond the international qualifier round.
An impressive quarter-final saw Woolley move on to the semi-finals, where he ultimately finished 14th, having completed a challenging run.
