Are voters warming to ALP cause?

Can you feel that warmth or see that beautiful glow? The cockles of your heart were clearly not warmed by the chilly and squally summer weather we saw yesterday, nor was that glow from strings of Christmas lights.Instead it was state politicians spreading goodwill in the Illawarra and hoping their message of love embraced every last enrolled voter. Our diehard Labor region has received a flattering amount of attention of late as we count down to the March poll.Just last Thursday, Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell was in town to mark 100 days until the election and promise an additional $2 million in recurrent funding to Lifeline if his party takes office.Yesterday it was Premier Kristina Keneally's turn, announcing an extra $636,000 for community groups. She received a warm welcome in Figtree which must have been a surprise after Wollongong MP Noreen Hay was booed when she appeared at a Hawks' game with a funding announcement earlier this month. But is it too late for ALP MPs to melt the hardened hearts of South Coast voters who have had enough? It will surely take more than a few visits for the ALP to put the heat back into summer and win enough support for victory.
