The 17-year-old Dapto boy died in the single-vehicle car accident at Kanahooka about 8.45pm Tuesday night.
Police believe the provisional driver was speeding at the time.
Jill Kerr returned to the scene on Wednesday morning to clear up allegations circulating on social media that Enrico was racing at the time of the crash.
It shows how quickly life can be taken from you. Ten seconds before I saw him in a car go past me and then he was gone. Please slow down.
"I was travelling north along Lakeside Drive," she said.
"Just past the bridge, a car overtook me at high speed. I lost sight of it at the corner. I couldn't see him further up the road.
"Then I saw the car had hit the tree and there were no other cars around at the time.
"I was hoping they would be okay when I saw the wreckage but unfortunately they weren't. One young man has lost his life.

Nearby residents described hearing two large claps as Enrico hit the gutter and became airborne, crossed over the side of the road and then they heard a bang sound as the car hit the tree.
"I heard two claps but I didn't think there had been an accident," a resident said.
"Then I saw the car wrapped around the tree. It upset me."
The residents said drivers used to speed along Lakeside Drive before a refuge island was installed earlier this year.
Many said the refuge did nothing to stop speeding.
Wollongong City Council workers were on the scene early on Wednesday morning to remove the damaged tree, clean up the car debris and tape off the area.
Two passengers were also in the car at the time of the fatal accident.
An 18-year-old woman sitting in the back seat suffered serious internal and leg injuries.
She was freed from the car before being airlifted to St George Hospital and remains in a stable condition.
A 17-year-old man in the front passenger seat suffered a broken arm and multiple abrasions.
He was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a serious but stable condition and has since been discharged.
Enrico's friend Justin Mehmedovic told the Mercury he had previously told Enrico to be careful and not speed while driving.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
