The accident occurred in the southbound lane on Mount Ousley near the Mount Pleasant Road overpass at about 5.30pm.

Reports state nine vehicles were involved.

At least one lane was blocked but has since been reopened.

All occupants are reportedly out of their cars and are exchanging details.

One woman was complaining of back and neck pain.

Paramedics treated one patient at the scene.

There is no fluid on the ground.

One of two southbound lanes was closed just past New Mount Pleasant Road.

Light vehicles were being diverted into New Mount Pleasant Road, while heavy vehicles were being allowed past the crash site.

Diversions have been lifted and all lanes have reopened but traffic remains heavy so motorists heading south on the motorway are still advised to allow extra travel time.
