But for now, all that matters is two hours on Sunday, when Tarrawanna fight to keep their season alive against them.
Tarrawanna are on a knife-edge in sixth place, one point behind Woonona, two adrift of fourth-placed Wollongong United and facing a tricky final two games against the Rangers and Sharks.
Dent played his juniors at Corrimal, but ended up moving to Tarrawanna, his house within view of the Blueys' home ground.
"I had dinner with dad on Wednesday, but we might now speak for a week now," Dent said with a laugh.
"We didn't when we beat them earlier in the year.
"Being a local derby and with so much on the line for us, it's a huge game, we've just got to win and worry about Woonona next week.
"No doubt I'd support Corrimal in the finals if we weren't to be there, but our boys have a huge opportunity to get there still."
While Corrimal fell short of claiming the title, an unassailable seven points behind Wollongong Olympic, it is still their most successful campaign since winning the first division double in 1974.
Third placed Albion Park have an awkward date with Fernhill, the Foxes needing at least one win to have any hope of moving off the bottom of the IPL ladder.
Elsewhere, Bampton Cup winners Bulli meet Conistion and newly-crown premiers Wollongong Olympic clash with Port Kembla.
Woonona are at home to South Coast United.
