The Hope 2508 church, which takes its name from the Helensburgh postcode, has been operating for five years in the light industrial Helensburgh Business Park at 23 Cemetery Rd.
It has now applied to use the adjacent unit no. 4 as a place of public worship, to house all the children's activities.
The church said there would be 50-60 people attending each Friday night's "youth club". The unit would be used 8am-6pm Monday to Thursday, and to 10pm on Fridays.
Sunday school had become disruptive to worship activities on the mezzanine level upstairs.
"The issue the church face [sic] is that the space downstairs where they conduct their Sunday school is impacting on the capacity of the congregation who meet upstairs to be contemplative and consider the message which is being given," the church's development application states.
"Hope Church 2508 has been searching for further space to host their kids program on a Sunday. Through the financial assistance of business people they have sourced funding to lease the unit next to their current building.
"Using this unit will allow youth to meet in an unencumbered space. This will enable their kid's program to function more easily and effectively and eliminate significant set up and pack down each week."
The youth club activities would not have an impact on traffic or parking because the attendees do not drive, and two extra parking spots could be created, the application states.
