'Coral Trees Cottage', located at 20 Mitchells Lane, Rose Valley is a 2.7-acre property with cottage utilised by the Girl Guides for several decades.
Sybil Majerszky from Kiama and Elva Emery from Gerringong had a vision that the Girl Guides needed a training and camping facility on the South Coast.
The Chittick family offered 2.75 acres at the rear of their property in Rose Valley for the use of the Guiding Association, for the peppercorn rent of $1 per year.
The first stage of the facility soon become a reality and Coral Trees Cottage was opened in November 1977.
In 1980, additions were made to the original dwelling, and an outside shower block was added to facilitate two groups to be able to use the facility at the one time.
One group would use the cottage, and the other would camp in the surrounding grounds.
"The camp was used only for Girl Guides activities during the year, but leased to families during the summer holidays to gain income to maintain the facility," co-selling agent, Neil Campbell from Ray White Gerringong said.
"After 35 years of constant weekend use the area become underutilized for what it was originally set up for and used more for social gatherings for families and small groups."
The Girl Guides Association gave up the lease on the facility in April 2016, and it has sat idle since.
The property will be going to auction on September 25.
