University of Wollongong lecturer and author Dr Joshua Lobb has had his first novel shortlisted for the Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction 2019.

Flight of the Birds, a collection of tales about birds and inadvertently climate change, hit book store shelves in February.
Dr Lobb is pitted against novels by Alice Robinson, Amanda O'Callaghan, Angela Meyer, Lexi Freiman and Alice Bishop.
The winner will be announced online in late October.
