For the first time in the group's history there were three bands headed to the competition, which took place at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith.
Their combined senior and junior wind band competed for the first time ever at the championships, joining the senior and junior brass bands at the competition.
Christine Wallbaum, a long-time member of the brass and wind groups and also their publicity officer, said all three of their bands gave great performances.
The results included the Junior Brass Band winning first place in the Junior 'C' Grade Brass section, and third place in the Open 'C' Grade Brass section.
Meanwhile, the Wind Band were awarded second place in the Open 'D' Grade Concert Band section.
"The Brass Band (Senior) were also very close to a third placing in Open 'C' Grade," Mrs Wallbaum said.
Mrs Wallbaum said their wind band had never competed in a competition of any kind until last weekend.
"They gained second place overall from six competing bands in the 2019 NSW State Championships," she said.
"This is an amazing and exciting achievement at any time, but even more so as this was their first time ever."
There are about 30 to 35 players in each of the bands.
New members who play any instrument are welcome to play in one of the seven bands that form the community group.
